I've been taking full undue advantage of my summer holidays to do all the things I was unable to do during my busy final semester; or rather, to do the things I was sparingly doing at the time, but without the guilt.
That's not totally true - there still is guilt, because I have pre-coursework for my Master's to be doing instead of reading books and watching anime.
...that's just too bad, though. I'm determined to preemptively make up for all the free time I won't have in the upcoming year.
I recently finished JoJo's Part 5 after putting it off for a long while. I will refrain from spoiling things on this post, because a mediocre personal blog you stumbled onto on the internet should not be the thing that totally ruins a show for you, but I was devastated. I need to go look at happy fanart or something. I also really want to know what happens beyond the ending- what else does Giorno go on to do? What is he up to when the events of Part 6 are taking place? I already miss him! I miss everyone. I didn't get as attached to this cast as I did the Stardust Crusaders but they were still so charming and easy to love.
I am now nearly all the way through Part 6 and I think I like it even more. Jolyene is a fun character, she makes me root for her. Most importantly, there's so many great female characters and we rarely see that in shonen anime; especially cases where the female characters are treated as characters first, and 'female characters' second, if you know what I mean. The setting being a women's prison feels so unique and novel. The villain being an evil priest who is obsessed with going to Heaven by doing everything except for praying and being a good person is also such a fun element. Who's gonna tell him...
