Gallery: Zurich

I visited Zurich for a day, fortunately before the summer heat wave hit. It was a moderately temperate day, sometimes even chilly, and only started raining when I was finally indoors after a whole day of walking the streets! Zurich is impressive, a clean, crisp city full of designers, big brands, and chocolate and watch shops. There are side-lanes off the main road that branch into multi-levelled networks with coffee shops, statues, fountains, designer boutiques and colourful houses. There are Swiss flags lining every part of these streets, which I found charming. My favourite part of the city was where it met the lake, Zurichsee. I purchased a round-trip ticket on the lake cruise having no clue it was also used as a form of commute with stops along the way, so I was on that boat for more than an hour. I think I will investigate the areas of those stops next time! I was particularly excited to finally see the Swiss Alps from a distance after the view evaded me on the flight to Switzerland. The breeze was nice, the water was turquoise in some places and bright blue in the middle, and no one stopped me from going right to the front deck which I had all to myself for most of the trip.

These pictures were taken on the Instax Hybrid Mini Evo, because my usual Panasonic Lumix ran out of battery.
